George Washington’s Mount Vernon

Frying Pan Farm Park

Spend the day living life in the 1920s. Frying Pan Farm Park recreates America in the 20-40s with tractors, milking machines, mechanical bailers, farm animals and other livestock. This park gives families the opportunity to meet farm animals, takes classes, workshops, horseback riding lessons and learn more about how a farm worked in the 1920-1940s. Cedar Hill – The Frederick Douglass Historical Site

Visit where the famous 19th century African American, Frederick Douglas, home where he escaped to freedom to. Douglass was born into slavery in Maryland 1818, but twenty years later he escaped to freedom after working on a ship. This guided tour gives you a glimpse in Douglass’s life through his historic house. View the schedule for when the Rangers provide 30 minute guided house tours every day.
