Seal the Walls Outside

Cracks, cervices and any small openings are perfect entry points for rodents into your home. Mice can easily crawl into openings the size of a dime and rats can squeeze through openings the size of a quarter. Even if the opening is not as big, rats have powerful teeth which they can use to make the opening big enough.

Make sure that you leave absolutely nothing for them to exploit. A lot of the times after it rains, the wood along your home becomes soft. Rodents like to take advantage of this soft wood and nibble holes to make entry points. Inspect all the exterior walls of your home and have everything from rotting wood to insect damaged spots repaired as soon as possible.

Also, the pipelines and electrical lines coming into your homes often leave gaps if they are not done properly. Rodents can easily fit through these small openings. Seal these gaps so that they have no chance of coming in.
