Remove Attractions
There are several things that can attract rodents to your property. The less attractions there are, the better chance you have at avoiding an infestation
- Clutter in the yard can provide rodents nice hiding spots. If you have any rubble left from a renovation job in your yard, any wood piles, or piles of dead foliage, we suggest that you remove it. Anything and everything that they can find easy hiding spots has to go. Get rid of it all.
- Standing water is one of the key attractants for rodents. If there is an ample source of water outside your home, rodents are soon to follow. Make sure you clear any standing water.
- Overgrowth in your yard provides plenty of safety for rodents. Get rid of any overgrown vegetation in your yard. Maintain the bushes and keep the grass cut short.
- Trash is a perfect food source for rodents. The smell of rotting food will lure them all to your trash cans. Make sure your trash can has a sealable lid and try moving the can away from your home, this will help eliminate the chances of rodents rummaging in your garbage and trying to find their way into your home.
