Depending on the location you live in, house mice can come in many different shapes and sizes. They range from light brown to gray with hair covering their entire body. House mice are small in size ranging from 7.5 cm to 10 cm. These pests enter homes most times during winter months, looking for a place to nest, food and water sources. They will eat anything in your kitchen from food crumbs to a bag of chips. They can chew through bags and boxes so you want to make sure to put food away in containers if possible. These creatures are extremely filthy animals, as they usually come from the outside traveling through drainage pipes and trash cans. When they make their way indoors, they will try their best to stay out of harms way. They are quick on their feet and will usually nest in hard to reach areas that have low traffic. If you have a house mice problem, take care of it right away because they are fast reproducers.

Signs of Infestation:

A mouse infestation that is not taken care of right away can cause severe damage to your home. Mice are the fastest reproducers and if they feel comfortable enough they will build their nests in your home and live there for months at a time. The first sign of an infestation is just seeing mice running around your home. Mice usually only come out during night time hours so if you see them during the day, it could be a sign of overcrowding. Tiny pellet droppings are also a sign of an infestation. The droppings differ from cockroach ones as mice droppings have hair embedded in them. Mice also scratch and chew up wood, paper and other household items. If you see scratches or teeth marks you may have an infestation on your hands. Other signs of a house mice problem is smelling urine and hearing squeaking noises.
